My buddy Tom Tullis is celebrating ten years of card-modeling and map-making excellence for gamers by having a birthday sale for his rotund drake friend.
It’s 25% off EVERYTHING that he sells.
All the Things.
Take a look at it all and you’ll see why I think this is a must-not-miss.
Have you ever wanted to play in a game that features a room full of suspects and a Great Detective saying “Before this night is over, I will reveal how one of you committed the murder”? Wicked Lies and Alibis one looks like a fantastic approach to this special genre of detective fiction, one that’s a great deal of fun for the players and GM alike. It’s also on deep-discount as DriveThruRPG’s “Deal of the Day,” so you need to grab it quick.
Players generate characters at the table from a selection of cards, developing a cast of complex characters who all have a motive to kill the victim. They then play through several establishing scenes in the lead-up to a murder. The remainder of the game is played as a series of structured flashback rounds where each player, in turn, assumes a degree of narrative control to frame a flashback which incriminates another character.
The Game Master has a dual role, both as facilitator of scenes, and as the Great Detective, a Non-Player Character summoned to solve the murder, who summarises the evidence revealed by the characters, and reveal the motives of the characters one-by-one before finally disclosing the identity of the murderer.
This game allows you to recreate murder mystery stories in the finest tradition of the golden-age of detective fiction. It’s also a perfect low-prep, one-shot, filler for that session where you are missing a key player, or when you want to try something different between regular games.
Seriously, in celebration of tomorrow’s International TableTop Day, started by Wil Wheaton and the other amazing folks involved with Geek & Sundry, DriveThruRPG has some rather exceptional titles on sale for ridiculous discounts. This includes the Shadowrun 5th Edition core book, Space 1889, the Leverage RPG, the core Traveller book, and more!

One of the many awesome products in this bundle –
For today only, Creative Mountain Games is experimenting. Three products you can grab for a dollar each, but only today and only with the links below in their message –
I have noticed recently while crunching the numbers that even though sales are good, I have a huge number of folks who pick up the freebies but don’t purchase anything. My thinking on this is that while they might not be against using PDFs, they don’t value them (at least not as highly as others might). I’d like to see if I can change that.
To that end, I have discounted three products that are different enough from one another to give some idea of the range of CMG offerings available. I have set up a $1 coupon for each (not one dollar off, but one dollar for each product) but it is only good for a day, so they need to be used quickly. Hopefully, if you haven’t purchased a CMG product yet, you will take this time to give something a try.
Or, if you simply want to take advantage of the sale to pick up one of the three you do not have (or all of them), then by all means have at it.
I’d also appreciate it if folks spread the word to their gamer friends through messageboards and social media. The links will work for anyone who uses them in this short time frame.

Thank you for your patronage.
All the best,
Post-Thanksgiving food coma and general happiness is making me lazy.
(OK, so I am totally watching the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer over and over and over…)
So just check out all the incredible deals on DriveThruRPG, and remember to order any print products you want for Christmas presents early!
It’s always a good idea to click on the Sales button whenever you go to DriveThruRPG, and today you’ll find some doozies. Hit the page link and scroll down to find what I am particularly stunned by – major OGL books by Mongoose marked down to $2.00 each! This is a no-brainer, even if you’re not an OGL fan. That kind of source material is hugely useful, and a steal at the price.
Today is the birthday of one of the most celebrated authors and creative minds in fantastic fiction and gaming, H.P. Lovecraft. While it’s true that I, personally, have never been a fan, I cannot help but respect the massive impact his work continues to exhibit upon my hobby and passion.
In celebration of his birthday (August 20, 1890) DriveThruRPG has a sale of select Cthulhian products at 25% off!
Arc Dream, Chaosium, Modiphius, and Pelgrane Press are only a handful of the publishers involved, so make sure you check them all out!
This one is a Judges Choice Award for the ENnies, from Cubicle 7. It’s also part of the Christmas in July Sale. The developer, Ken Spencer, tells it best –
“It’s alternate history pulpy retro-sci-fi space opera planetary romance. It’s throttled up rocket packs burning radium on the long blast to the farthest reaches of the Solar System. It’s hunting thunder lizards in the upland jungles of Venus. It’s battling Ancient Martian killing machines piloted by the Deutsche Marskorps across the baking red deserts of Mars. It’s exploring the deadly skies of Jupiter under the constant threat of Europan disintegration. It’s RAY gun wielding heroes bulls-eyeing mutants in the blasted ruins of Io”
Presenting – Rocket Age!
