Dungeon Masters Guild – Sean’s Pick, 012519

Closing out Community Content Week is the pinnacle of the idea – an entire site dedicated to facilitating the creation of Dungeons & Dragons content of all kind and sharing it with the world. The Dungeon Masters Guild is, frankly, the culmination of decades of inspired fans creating and sharing their ideas.

Where once they mimeographed documents they typed up on typewriters and mailed them to fellow gamers they met at conventions or via the letters pages of wargaming magazines, the advent of the Internet changed the world for them.

Now the wise folks at Wizards of the Coast and DriveThruRPG are facilitating this decades-old practice (while, fair enough, cutting themselves in for a piece of the action). This is the ultimate melding of the World’s Most Popular RPG and the enormous talent found within its global fanbase.

The Dungeon Masters Guild is a program that allows you to create content (adventures and locations; new monsters; character classes, archetypes, and backgrounds; etc.) using Wizards of the Coast intellectual property (IP) and to make some money while you’re at it. Your work might even be noticed by the team at Dungeons & Dragons, who select writers from the DMs Guild for official products, the Guild Adept program, and the Adventurers League.

To get involved, all you need to do is read the Content Guidelines, write your content, and click through a Community Content Agreement with OneBookShelf when uploading your content. OneBookShelf is the parent company of DriveThruRPG and RPGNow and operates the DMsGuild site and the Dungeon Masters Guild program, under license from Wizards of the Coast.

Once published, all Dungeon Masters Guild content is available at www.DungeonMastersGuild.com or www.DMsGuild.com. You can monitor the website for your sales data, plus ratings and reviews of your work. To promote sales, we encourage you to create eye-catching covers for your work and publicize through social media and other reputable media outlets where D&D fans gather.
