Whether you’re a Deadlands: Reloaded fan (playing it Savage Worlds style), or an aficionado of Deadlands Classic, the “Night Train,” John Goff, has something very special for you with this adventure. Statted for both, this is one of the many great adventures written by the man who knows the Weird West very well.

In the Weird West, not all tracks show up on a map, and not all trains are scheduled. During the Great Rail Wars, an unexpected whistle in the night usually meant bad news, and for Paradise, Idaho, it still does. An unscheduled train is rolling into the station, it’s bringing Hell with it–just maybe not the one you’d expect given the author of this nightmare, John “Night Train” Goff.

Slap on your six-guns and help the residents of a peaceful mining town square off against a powerful foe from Deadlands’ future…and past!

This adventure requires the Deadlands Classic game system to play OR Deadlands Reloaded—it’s dual statted for both!

Gaming for kids is a thing I’ve been very proud to see (and be a part of) building over the last few years. Monte Cook Games did a great job breaking even more new ground in this field with their charming and well-crafted No Thank You, Evil! Fans of this line will be grateful for this new expansion, a deck-driven system to help those running the game (including young, burgeoning new Game Masters) pull together great stories for their friends and loved ones. More brilliant work from the extraordinary Shanna Germain.

Create fantastic, whimsical adventures for your No Thank You, Evil! game

Someone stole all the robot waiters from The Cake Is a Pie, a famous cake and pizza restaurant. Clues lead to an alien factory where everyone looks the same. Can the players overcome obstacles and hazards, confront Joe the Giant, and solve the mystery to return the robot waiters?

Journey into Storia in adventures of your own design! Combine an engaging STORY card with one or more cool PLACE and PERSON cards to outline your quest. Then give your adventure a surprising TWIST, and maybe some fun and useful STUFF. There are even maps and handouts! Pick cards, draw them at random or mix and match. Create a great story with all the details you need—in minutes!

This expansion requires the No Thank You, Evil! game to play.

My friend Ian Liddle has another great game idea going, an entire space sector you can drop into any Savage Worlds science-fiction campaign, or sent your entire campaign within. While it’s certain you need the core rules and the Science Fiction Companion, I am betting you’d get a lot of utility out of combining this with the Last Parsec stuff as well.

A whole detailed sector for use with Savage Worlds and the Science Fiction Companion. Includes a full Plot Point Campaign.

Sector Asgard Kappa. Containing thirty six inhabitable planets with a wide variety of cultures, aliens and secrets. It is ripe for exploration and adventure!

You will need both the Savage Worlds Explorers Edition and the Savage Worlds Science Fiction Companion to use this book. The book is expected to be around 100-120 pages when completed.

All thirty six worlds in the Asgard Kappa sector will be detailed in the final product, however here we present three of those on offer. Full world data in the Savage Worlds Science Fiction Companion format will be provided in the final product, as well as details of important creatures and NPCs.

Larraintzar is located in the Ingunn system. Living under a police state, its inhabitants cluster together for safety inside its grey housing blocks, which are found among the unique crystal formations which make up a lot of the planet’s bizarre geology. These formations are what cause the ‘shard storms’ which, when triggered by seismic activity can strip the flesh from the bones of a man in seconds. It does, however have great natural beauty and has a dedicated visitors centre for off-world visitors.

Bergljot is most notable for its vast spaceyard, which is itself a living alien relic – the out of commission ships that reside there are used as food by the ancient relic. The inhabitants follow rigid religious sanctions which honor that relic

Manderiaga is a desert world, whose colonists live in fortified settlements to protect themselves both from the sandstorms, dangerous local predators and the vastly superior numbers of the native alien race.

These are of course only samples of the interesting places we have in store for you in this book.

The Campaign

The characters are hired to investigate the activities of a group known as the Brotherhood of Logic and, once their evil plot is uncovered it becomes a race against time to stop them from succeeding and plunging the whole sector into all out war! This will be a Plot Point Campaign of fifteen adventures, with story seeds to take the characters on even more adventures in-between the scripted parts of the campaign.

Fate fans, whether focused on Fate Core or the more streamlined Fate Accelerated, have something new to be excited about – a “drop in” magic system with its foundations in the Core part of the rules. What’s really interesting is that I think those wanting a Mage-style experience in Fate will want to look at this because it eschews spell lists for a much more open-ended, creative approach to magic. Created by Nathan Hare, known for really useful Fate accessories.

“. . . [High Fantasy Magic] feels like the kind of thing that should have been in the Core rules – aspects for permissions, skills for actions, stunts for bonus stuff. Well done.”

Christopher Dolunt (Author of Savage Worlds: Rippers)

“. . . I like that it’s a very light touch on the existing skills and action system. Very good from my perspective of not bolting on lots of extras.”

Rory Bracebuckle (Author of Perilous Intersections)

High Fantasy Magic is a simple, freeform magic system designed for Fate Core and Fate Accelerated. Its goal is to be a drop-in magic system with a high fantasy tone while sticking closely to Fate Core and providing the same amount of flexibility in character creation and progression. There are no spell lists. Instead, the players can choose which types of magic they can use via a list of magic disciplines. Then, the players are encouraged to use the power they have in whatever creative ways they can think of. The freeform nature of this magic system allows for simple adjudication of the rules and a low barrier to entry. Whether you use it in it’s entirety or pick it apart as a toolkit, this is a great resource for magical, fantasy settings.

High Fantasy Magic includes the following:

  • Simple rules to handle a wide variety of magical abilities
  • A list of magical disciplines
  • Tips for managing the varying potency of magic
  • Rules for animating creatures to your aid
  • Example stunts for magic users
  • Tons of examples

Nerzugal Role-Playing (aka Steven Williams) has come from seemingly out of nowhere (actually, he built a serious following on the Dungeon Masters Guild site before trying his luck on DriveThruRPG) to build a massive following among 5e fans looking for more good stuff to enhance their games. With the relative dearth of material coming directly from WotC, those making quality support stand a good chance of getting noticed, and this particular collection of dungeons, puzzles, and monsters is a favorite addition to the 5e DM’s library.

This is the second Toolkit I have created to help out Game Masters new and old for 5E. Similar to the first, you will find fully detailed dungeons and one-shot adventures, most of which can be dropped in any traditional fantasy world with minimal effort. This Toolkit also comes with 100 new monsters as part of Nerzugal’s Extended Bestiary with numerous unique creatures as well as expansions upon existing types such as centaur, kobold, ogre, orc, and even bullywug and includes beautiful artwork for 26 of these unique monsters! In all, the Toolkit contains 5 full dungeons, 5 one-shot adventures, 10 puzzles, 100 trinkets, and 100 monsters to help develop your world!

The Toolkit was created with both novice and veteran game masters in mind, giving detailed guides and walkthroughs that are easy to follow and can be dropped into most settings. So if you are just looking for some new monsters to throw at your party or if you are someone who has always wanted to try GMing but were afraid to go at it alone, there is something for you within the Toolkit!

For a look at the contents of the book check the previews to see the Table of Contents, one of the dungeons included, and a few of the monsters from the bestiary. If you are interested in monsters but not necessarily in dungeons or one-shots, you can purchase just the monsters for half the price of the full Toolkit.

The book was created using all black and white artwork except for the cover, so you don’t have to worry about losing out on critical content by choosing to buy the cheaper book option!

Updates

1.1. Uploaded a new HighQuality PDF that contains bookmarks to the major sections of the book

You can check out Nerzugal’s Dungeon Master Toolkit for free on the DmsGuild. This Toolkit is twice as long and the quality and content has been greatly improved. As of the time this is going live, my first book has an average rating of 4.8 and is one of the all-time best selling products on the DMSGuild, so you know you are getting a quality product when Nerzugal is in the title!

Overconfident and even shameless in my public persona, I assure you I am never unaware of how fortunate I am. I spend every day doing things that countless fellow gamers would dearly love to pursue, and I am permitted to call this my vocation (and my avocation).

Today is one of those days when my cup overfloweth – not so much because of something I did specifically, but because of my good fortune to have collaborated with an all-star cast on something of great value and importance. Michael Surbrook did all the heavy lifting. Ross Watson oversaw the structure and the execution. Jason Waters took the necessary risks and made the project possible.

Today, we at Evil Beagle Games (along with High Rock Press) are celebrating Aaron Allston’s Strike Force, both for the reception of the BAMFSIES Gamers’ Choice Award and for the exceptionally grand review it received on EN World.

To have been a part of something like this is an honor, marking an important and cherished moment in my career. Thanks to everyone who supported it, and everyone who rightfully remembers Aaron’s work for the treasure that it is.

A superhero setting like no other. A role-playing game campaign book that includes techniques and lessons from over 22 years of play. A tribute to one of the greatest creators in the RPG industry, created using Champions 6th Edition.

In 1988, Aaron Allston released Strike Force, a supplement detailing the first eight years of his superhero campaign. Noted for its extensive and highly-influential advice to gamemasters on how to run a long-term campaign, Strike Force was a landmark RPG publication.

We have now released an updated version of this classic book for the 21st Century. Aaron himself was designing this new edition of Strike Force before his untimely death, and we wanted to bring his work to life as a monument to Aaron’s lasting influence on the RPG hobby. This  updated Strike Force sourcebook includes never-before-seen material detailing Aaron’s multiversal superhero setting, compelling characters and villains, and updated and expanded advice from Superhero RPG veterans like Steve Kenson and Sean Patrick Fannon for how to run a campaign using “the Strike Force method.”

The electronic portion of this product includes character write-ups for Mutants & Masterminds and ICONS.

My friend Carolyn Kay has a new book out, illustrated by the incomparable Chaz Kemp. She’s exceptionally talented, and the description is beyond intriguing –

“It’s a steampunk/fantasy story about an elven princess who travels to the mortal realm to find that Queen Victoria might not be the ally her people thought she was.” – Carolyn Kay.

The year is 1850 in the world of man. Fifty years ago, a comet crashed into the continent of Zorrovia, bringing destruction and a magical curse. Faerie glamour is no more. All of the fae folk—elves, trolls, goblins, gnomes, faeries and their kith and kin have been revealed to mankind. Now the mortals of Ashelon and the citizens of the Hidden Lands struggle to coexist. Galessel, Princess of the Elven court, is the newly appointed ambassador to Queen Victoria of Ashelon. She’s nervous about her new post, and curious to see for herself how the beings of the Hidden Lands are faring among the mortals. What she discovers leads her down a path that could change her world forever. Ashelon is a land where true steampunk is on display. These aren’t just pretty little Victorian tales. These are gritty stories about multi-cultural punks fighting against the establishment in an attempt to destroy Imperialism. Only one thing stands in their way: Ashelon’s Queen Victoria and the gods that are on her side.
