Kickstarter Roundup, 041415

I am very sorry to those whose Kickstarters I missed. I’ve got so very much going on, and I just have a hard time squeezing these in as often as I should.

8 days to go on this series of awesome superheroic supplements for ICONS fans.

The money made by this Kickstarter is intended to literally kick-start the Stomping Grounds series for Stark City players and game masters – getting our first issue out the door, The Silver District. In addition, we’re going to have stretch goals which will go towards creating the next issues in the series for all of you.

The Super Villain Handbook

Another huge project for ICONS fans.

The Super Villain Handbook is a resource for the ICONS Assembled Role Playing Game to help GMs craft super villains that feel larger than life and which threaten your heroes. Written by Dr. Jason Tondro and produced by Fainting Goat Games, this book is a treasure trove of knowledge for anyone looking to delve deep into the world of super evil.

Phoenix: Dawn Command – a card based role playing game

One of the points of Kickstarter, IMHO, is to allow truly interesting, non-standard ideas to flourish. This is one of those.

Phoenix: Dawn Command is a card-based roleplaying game with a unique approach to character death. In Phoenix, players assume the role of supernaturally empowered champions bound together to defend a fantasy world under attack by threats that no mortal could withstand. These heroes face harsh odds every mission, and many won’t survive. But death isn’t the end of your character’s story; it’s the start of the next chapter.

Epyllion, a Dragon Epic RPG

Excellent designer and all-around-great-human Marissa Kelly is behind this particularly cool RPG project about playing dragons.

Epyllion is a tabletop roleplaying game (RPG) where you play dragons in a dragon-centric world. You are the sons and daughters of the Dragonlords, mighty rulers who need your help to investigate rumors, solve problems, and discover the truth of a growing evil in the land. Along with your fellow dragons, you and your clutchmates will protect Dragonia from the Darkness and discover the true value of friendship. While you play, you’ll explore what dragons do, building on what each of you adds to the story, and exploring the meaning of friendship for yourselves.

Gamers Behaving Badly – Season 2

An audio play series about dysfunctional gamers and their exploits at and away from the table? Welcome to the second season!

In December 2014. we released ‘Gamers Behaving Badly’ a scripted audio comedy show set around a tabletop role-playing game. The show centered around the exploits of this dysfunctional group both around the table and within the adventure itself.

Adding to the humor was the fact that nearly every episode was based on a true story, meaning the plot of each episode was reflective of an actual gaming story…

And now we want to do a second season. As with any project, we want to make the second season better. The first did have some issues, most notably audio quality, which is one of the reasons for the kickstarter. The other reason for this effort is to help pay those involved in the project, even if it is a minimal amount. Further, the money raised goes toward fulfilling licensing agreements for music and sound effects.

The Sinister Stone of Sakkara

Straightforward and awesome, an adventure for classic roleplaying.

The Sinister Stone of Sakkara is a ready-to-play adventure scenario presented for use with theAdventurer Conqueror King System™ (ACKS™). It is readily compatible with other fantasy role-playing games built on the same core rules, but is specifically designed to highlight the features and mechanics of ACKS.

The adventure is intended for six to ten characters of 1st to 3rd level, with a combined total of 8-12 levels of experience in the party. In the tradition of classic TSR adventure scenarios such as The Keep on the Borderlands and The Village of Hommlet, The Sinister Stone of Sakkarafeatures a detailed starting base and small wilderness sandbox in addition to a dungeon.
