Kickstarter Roundup, 020315

Oh, have I got a lot of them this time!

Deadlands: Stone and a Hard Place

Two Kickstarters at the same time?! Only m’man Shane could pull this off, and he’s doing it in spades (see what I did there?).

The third Plot Point Campaign for Deadlands Reloaded features Stone, the hero killer, and a return to the Spaghetti Western–with meat!

Deadlands: The Cackler Graphic Novel

Stone stalks the High Plains seeking heroes to kill. The Cackler hunts the Weird West in search of a mysterious girl called Rachel. Both of these killers are stone-cold dead…Harrowed…and what they’re about to do kicks off the next era in the story of Deadlands!

Larger Than Life: Tall Tale Adventures

My friends at BlackWyrm have this fantastic gem crafted by the most excellent and creative Michael Surbrook. It’s all the great characters of American mythology, presented in three sets of stats – Hero System, Mutants & Masterminds, and Savage Worlds.

Heroes, villains, legends … the folklore of America features all of this and more. In this volume you will find pirates and soldiers, lumberjacks and steel drivers, mountain men and lawmen, cowboys, Indians, inventors, and eccentrics. All of whom are just waiting to be included in your roleplaying game campaign! And don’t let the time period fool you, just because these characters existed in the 18th and 19th Centuries, doesn’t mean you can’t use them in your pulp, superhero, fantasy, or even science fiction campaigns! After all, these characters are Larger Than Life!

Sea of Stars RPG Campaign Sourcebook

Born from the first Wizards of the Coast setting design contest, this Pathfinder/OGL setting goes beyond the normal limits.

The gods were thrown down and the world shattered into floating islands. The dragons now reign unchallenged under their Empress. It is a place of high magic and high adventure; where ghosts dance and trees sing, ships fly and books read their stories out loud. There are lands of secrets and mysteries; lost cities and forbidden knowledge, bound demons and dark magics.

Prepare yourself to venture out on the Sea of Stars. Explore a world of adventure without end, magic without limits, and dragons without fear.

WILDERNESS ADVENTURES 28mm Scale Fantasy Gaming Terrain

My buddy Tom Tullis is at it again, this time with incredible 3D pieces you can craft for when the adventurers make that fatal mistake of leaving the tavern.

Nefertiti Overdrive: High Octane Action in Ancient Egypt

This one just looks so damn cool!

Defying physics and common sense, you are legendary heroes protecting the royal house of 25th Dynasty Egypt from both internal enemies and the marauding Assyrian army. Do you want to leap from crocodile head to crocodile head before planting your sandaled foot directly in the face of an Assyrian giant bearing an axe bigger than you? Do you want to rebound off the side of a pyramid and fly into the centre of a mob of badguys, whom you then lay low with your lightning-fast fists?

Conan

Conan is a miniature-based board game that pits one player, the overlord, who controls hordes of savage tribesmen, no-good lowlifes and undead minions against 1 to 4 players who incarnate the legendary Conan and his fellow adventurers. The gameplay is asymetric, as the overlord possesses a large selection of models and objectives which are his own, whereas the brave heroes are played from a first person perspective, much like in a role playing game. An adventure can be played out in 1 hour on one of the beautiful game boards (depicting iconic locations of Howard’s immersive Hyborian world) as you pit your wits, daring and tactical acumen against your opponent.

Oh, hell yeah…

World of Darkness Dark Eras Prestige Edition

White Wolf is in no way dead, and those who still love the New World of Darkness should see this.

The history of the World of Darkness isn’t a secret…
It is a myriad of secrets…

nWoD Dark Eras starts out presenting a chapter for each of nine historical eras; one for each of the New World of Darkness game lines. The sections are written for the currently available edition of the game line, but they are designed to be usable with any edition. Each terrifying time period and location is examined through the supernatural creatures that dwell there…

And finally, one very special and important one I hope you will contribute to for very good reason –

Stair lift needed for Jeff Perren

If you love gaming, you owe more to this man that you might ever realize.

To all our gaming friends: Jeff Perren, the co-author with Gary Gygax of the Chainmail war game in 1971 which would spawn, a few years later, the Dungeons & Dragons game we all know and love, needs our help.

His leg amputated, he now lives away from his family, in a nursing home, and you know how hard it can be on one’s morale. Now his daughter, Victoria Ricks Perren-Cserep, has a plan to get him to live in her house, but since he is wheelchair-bound, this means making the house accessible, and this means a stair lift to start and make this workable.

This could mean a big change for Jeff Perren, and that would help greatly in all sorts of ways, psychologically, physically, you name it. Feeling good surrounded by your loved ones goes a long way towards living a good life. So please, consider pitching in, even a buck or two. Any amount matters.

Please also share the link so a maximum of gamers get to know about this. Let’s make it happen for Jeff. Thank you very much, friends!
